InterXchange is a service from Xchangeteam aimed at providing relevant
freelance assignments to skilled, English-speaking consultants from overseas with no previous
UK experience.
InterXchange is for consultants with a minimum of two years experience
from markets other than the UK in all of our sectors:
marketing, media, communications and PR, internal communications, public affairs, design , editorial, digital, events and advertising. We only accept the best but if you become a ‘member’ of InterXchange,
we will aim to put you on a two-week
paid placement at a relevant agency, corporate, charity or public sector
organisation. This time will give you an opportunity to demonstrate your
value, earn yourself an extended assignment at the ‘going’
rate and the chance to gain a foothold in the UK, where contacts and market
experience are key.
Why InterXchange?
A severe skills shortage has been reported across the board in marketing, media
and communications, especially at mid-management level. There are a
huge number of talented overseas consultants that arrive in the UK and who could
dramatically reduce this shortage, yet they aren’t being utilised
by organisations in the UK. Anecdotal evidence and empirical research
carried out by Xchangeteam has shown that overseas consultants struggle
to get work when they first arrive in the UK. According to our survey
of these consultants, 60% said they struggled to get work initially as
employers cited a lack of UK contacts and/or experience and 40% said recruiters
wouldn’t put them forward for suitable opportunities.
