In order to find the right person or team of people for you, we need you to think about exactly what your requirements are. Ten minutes planning a brief now could save hours, even days of time later.
It always helps us if your brief explains key information, but as we
know that every project is different, we are more than happy to help develop
this with you. You will need to highlight:
- The nature of your business and the assignment you need to fulfil
- so that we can draw upon our freelance consultants with the best
experience of your industry and project.
- The skills you require - we work with freelance consultants, from
junior executives to board directors, from specialists to generalists.
It is key that you prioritise which skills are essential to the success
of your project.
- Your budget - we can help you get the best person for your budget
and advise you as to how senior the freelance consultant needs to
be. You may find that it might be more cost effective to use someone
on an ad hoc basis - calling upon them as and when you need their specialist
input.
- The length of the assignment - and whether you need a freelance
consultant on an ad hoc, part-time or full-time basis. Many companies
initially state full-time - but freelance consultants are highly efficient,
so you might find that if they work from their own offices the job
can be done in just three days a week.
- Your deadline - it's important that we know what your timescale
is. We can get you a freelance consultant tomorrow, but if you have
specialist needs, you may be better off giving us a little more notice.
- Your office or theirs - many freelance consultants are happy to
work from their own offices and with access to email and internet
it can be just as good as having someone in the next room - without
having to find extra desk space! Some freelance consultants only like
to work from a company's office, so please be clear about this.
