Social Media for PR and Marketing - An Introduction

Highly informative, this course will provide a foundation in the five essential cornerstones of social media in a PR and marketing context: monitoring, content creation, engagement, networking and measurement. This session will give you enough of an understanding of social media, enabling you to publish a podcast, organise a blogger briefing, design and write a blog, monitor your buzz and measure your results. You’ll get a feel for the equipment and skills needed to make a social media campaign fly, and see the opportunities made available beyond the traditional PR remit and the effects in a broader marketing and communications sense in this changing social media landscape. Social media has the power to change a brand’s perception and this course will offer examples of challenges and success stories in this context. This social media foundation workshop is suitable for communication and marketing practitioners of all levels, but is geared more toward beginners.

Social Media in PR and Marketing - Advanced
A half-day course, presented by Drew Benvie
London - 2nd February 2011

Designed for those who know their `trackbacks` from their `hashtags`, the advanced social media workshop is designed to turn a social media-savvy campaign into an award-winning one. The session covers the practicalities of the newest social media platforms that will transform a PR campaign and secure buy-in from all levels of the organisation by moving beyond PR and into sales, marketing and product development. This workshop is suitable for those with a sound understanding of social media in a PR or marketing context, and as a follow-on course to the introductory one above.  For the more experience social media practitioners, exploring PR and Marketing by Social Media.
 
Timings - 8.45am arrival for a 9am prompt start, finishing by 1pm.
